What You Will Learn:

Part 1

  • Introducing teaching resources
  • Creating and conducting emotional regulation sessions at home / in school

A HRDF Certified trainer, consults to schools on the UK curriculum, IGCSE and teacher development. She sits on the Penang Education Council and Wawasan Open University (Penang) Research Ethics Board. She also works with children and adolescents in school settings on developing learning skills and emotional regulation.

  • Power of Language Intention.
  • The 3 Dos and 3 Don’ts when communicating with children.
  • Understand how language used may inhibit or enhance the child’s understanding.
  • Learn from 3 parents' struggles whenever adults' expectations become stressors to themselves and their children.
  • Witness real life cases on simple shift in the language and expectation which bring about miraculous breakthroughs that seem impossible previously.

This session will be moderated by Ms. Erliana Owyang, Art and Music Therapists, International Licensed Movement Based Learning Instructor.

If you have been tired, feeling burnt-out or losing hope in handling your child's tantrum and meltdown, this talk is for you.

If your child has been aggressive in self harming and hurting others or throwing things around, this talk is for you.

  1. You will learn to understand that tantrum and meltdown are a form of communication.
  2. You will identify sources of the tantrum and meltdown through the noticing lens of sense, feel and know
  3. You will learn simple Movement Based Learning techniques to help you stay calm in handling the situation more effectively.
  4. You will turn the obstacle of tantrum and meltdown into great opportunities by seizing the teachable moment and creating bonding with your child.
