Since 2010, Breakthru Enrichment Station (BEST Centre, a therapeutic support centre for children with special needs) had successfully organized 3 entrepreneurship projects for special needs children. They raised fund and trained their children to prepare food and beverage to sell.

Yearly, Breakthru Enrichment Station raises fund to run events that develop entrepreneurship awareness, profession interest and to nurture the gifted ability of children with special needs.
To fulfil such entrepreneurship project, Breakthru Enrichment Station is transforming its learning centre into a one-day only large café and games event, like a small carnival, and call this one-day event “BEST Café”!
Objective of BEST Café is:
– for children to present their functioning skills;
– to provide parents-child bonding activities eg. kitchen time together;
– to develop their Entrepreneurship skill to be able to earn their own living;
– to nurture their Serventhood and language skills eg serving family and guests;
– to build their interest in cooking! Or even to be a chef as a profession!
– to develop their mathematic skills eg. selling and counting coupons

Introducing BEST Cafe!

To prepare for this event, Breakthru Enrichment Station children are trained weekly to cook and serve foods weekly. During BEST Café, children shall actively involve in preparing the food to their parents and invited guests like you. They are all eager to serve you!
All food menu are created by Pn Ngiam Lian Ai personally,
fully inheriting her best taste and food quality.
You will be amazed by how well the children’s ability to prepare the food according to the quality and taste of Pn Ngiam’s (their F&B Director) standard through her training! The high standard of ingredients these children uses also contributes to the delicious taste that you will enjoy. Definitely worth every ringgit you contributed.

In support of the children:
We wish to request for your kind consideration to support, participation, in-kind donation or sponsorship to make this event successful. BEST Centre will be selling coupons for this event at RM25 per booklet.
These are the options which you can support the children:
- Purchase BEST Cafe’s Coupon to use on Event day – (self-collection on the day)
- Purchase BEST Cafe’s Coupon (to exchange Nestum Cranberry or Triple Chocolate Walnut Cookies if you are not able to come on the Event day, collect from office)
- Sponsorship – (Direct donation for this Project)
You may purchase as many booklet as you like for used at BEST Café day. Come and attend this event. Without you, children cannot serve. You presence is most important to this Entrepreneurship project, and we need you to make it happen for them.
We hope to have 300 to 500 guests to fill up our BEST Café, and give special needs children an opportunity to learn and experience entrepreneurship. Hopefully this will inspire them to develop their career in this field in the future.

At 10:30am – 11:30am, we are glad to invite Ms Phoebe to share her topic that she presented during the recent 23rd World Family Therapy Congress which was held at JW Marriot KL entitled “P.L.A.Y. Strategies – A Breakthrough Approach in Supporting Children and Teenagers”. Many therapist benefited from this talk!

At 12.00pm – 1:00pm, Ms Elisa is going to talk about “现代的孩子需要什么才能幸福的成长？” – A practical parenting in this modern day Malaysian context. (In Mandarin)

At 1:30pm – 2:30pm, Mr Chong WM will be sharing his topic of “How to Keep Yourself Healthy in Simple Ways”. He is going to tell you how to use simple techniques of Touch-For-Health to keep yourself healthy, without using any tools, supplements or cost at all!

They have also selected a good amount of useful educational books for sale on that day. Don’t forget to visit the books corner which is located at next door before you leave. All books and toys can be purchased using the Coupon that you bought.

Games Galore:
Do you think you are skillful enough to beat some challenging games? Games that look simple but designed to simulate the challenges of children’s special needs, and you will understand their struggle better, and find your own technics to overcome these challenges. Overcomers will get their rewards!

Experience their newly renovated Music Room. Enjoy a heart moving movie based on the true story of a Hong Kong headmistress entitled “五个小孩的校长“ (Little Big Master) at our music room at 2:00pm. This movie is rated 4 stars by cinema.com.my. So make sure you eat your meals quick not to miss this amazing and encouraging show, Remember to grab a few tissue packs from the self-service counter first before entering!

 About Breakthru Enrichment Station
Breakthru Enrichment Station is a centre caters for and support children who have learning differences and challenges. It is founded by Ngiam Lian Ai, Phoebe Long and Cheng Yu Chiet in 2010 who have passion and drive to provide a conducive environment for children with learning challenges to develop into happy, proactive, independent and responsible individuals. Children who come to our centre have different level of Autism, Down’s syndrome, Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Aspergers Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, Emotional & Behaviour Disorder as well as those facing challenges in adapting to mainstream education system.We also provide professional courses, quality training, coaching and support to parents, caregivers and teachers who work with special needs children in learning new strategies to enable them to better teach their children.
