Eddison Leong won a consolation prize at the recent 5th Rainbow in My Heart Art Competition for children and adults with special needs organised by Rotary Club Bandar Utama. Breakthru Enrichment Station registered 8 students for the competition and all took home a party pack each and the invaluable experience of participating in a competition independently as all teachers and parents (with exceptions) were gently advised to leave the competition halls.

It was a good turnout, with more than 100 would be artists, the furthest was a group from Dayspring Klang, and one of their students won the first prize. It was also a first for Rotary Club Bandar Utama when they decided to have online registration for the competition, as they had wanted to reach out to more people.

Mr Victor Lim, the President of Rotary Club Bandar Utama, planned to get the National Art Gallery to exhibit the winning pieces. The art competition was started by one of its past presidents, Ms Judy Chong who felt that every child has a different mind and that they should draw whatever it is from their heart, thereby this year’s theme, “Serving Humanity in colours and visions”. Judges were professional artists.
Breakthru tap dancers entertained guests and participants while waiting for judges to assess the more than 100 art pieces for the day.
